Bebidas (drinks) of Mexico

It is safe to say that we have tried many of drinks attributed to Mexico. Most have been very enjoyable with a couple of exceptions - straight tequilla has now been renamed as Av Gas, particularly the one at the distillery which is 55% alcohol!!! They don't sell it but are allowed to let you have a taste. If you get offered this - SAY NO!!

To date I personally have tried: margaritas (lime and also tamarind flavour), tequilla sunrise, pina colada, mojito, sangria, and a mayan concoction named Mayan Cosmos (tequilla, vodka, cranberry juice and lime). Last night at Cancun, I also had a cocktail called Wallaby Darn'd. this is a mixture of vodka, peach schnapps, etc - too sweet for me. My favourite would have to be a mojito as it has a strong lime & mint flavour which I really like. For those who are familiar with sangrias, they make them quite differently here in Mexico but very tasty!

  1. OMG Frances!!! I'm wondering if I've lost my drinkin' buddy - not a red wine in sight..... Still, I'm right there with ya about the margaritas. Good for you for trying all of those cocktails and enjoying new experiences. I'm wondering if Pauline and Don tried some too?
